ABOUT ME

Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist

My Approach

My equine bodywork practice is based in prevention.  The horse’s body functions as an entire unit, with the muscles moving the bones, tendons and ligaments, all in sequence, to perform whatever action is required at the moment, whether it is jumping rails, doing tempi changes, descending hills on a trail or simply trotting around a lesson arena.

My Training

I began my equine bodywork journey over a decade ago, shortly after I purchased my first horse, whom I had been leasing.  I initially learned The Masterson Method and, as a self-taught student of that method for over a decade, I was true believer in the benefits of equine bodywork.  During 2020 I became interested in furthering my education in the field, and I became formally certified in equine sports massage therapy in 2021.

My Work

I am pleased to use both methods of massage during my equine bodywork sessions, depending on the needs or sensitivities of the horse. It is so rewarding to witness horses visibly relax, stretch, and release pain and tension over the course of a bodywork session or sessions.  The difference in the horse, both physically and mentally, is truly gratifying!
